Mardi Gras opens from 12am – 11pm (VIP Ticket Holders from 11am)
We recommend arriving before 12/1pm to avoid queues.
The bar closes at 10.30pm, food closes at 10.45pm and the music concludes at 11pm.
Please be patient while we carry out our security checks and searches, which take place at the festival site entrances and may also happen at any time at any location onsite.
If you’re lucky enough to look 25 or younger, please make sure that you bring an acceptable form of identification. You must be over the age of 18 to attend this event.
Valid forms of ID include:
- A valid and in date photographic driver’s license or provisional licence.
- A valid and in date passport (not a photocopy)
- A proof of age standards scheme card (showing the pass hologram).
We will be operating and enforcing a challenge 25 policy at Mardi Gras: Proud in the Park. Challenge 25 is a retailing strategy that encourages anyone who is over 18 but looks under 25 to carry an acceptable ID (a card bearing the PASS hologram, a photographic driving license or a passport) if they wish to buy alcohol / enter the event.
We are getting reports of people buying fake tickets. Please only purchase tickets via www.mardigrasfestival.co.uk, Fatsoma, Skiddle or Resident Advisor.
WHAT COVID-19 POLICIES WILL BE IN PLACE?
COVID-19 POLICIES AND FAQS
As with the majority of large-scale events and festivals nationwide, Mardi Gras Festival will be asking all ticket holders to verify their COVID-19 status to gain entry to this years event.
We would like to point out that you DO NOT need to be double vaccinated to gain entry. Providing ONE of the following is acceptable:
* Proof of a negative lateral flow or PCR test result logged within 48 hours of the event OR
* Proof of immunity based upon a positive PCR test result, clear of the 10 day isolation period, logged within 180 days of the event OR
* Proof of double vaccination, with the 2nd dose received at least 14 days prior to the event
Just ONE of the above criteria is needed in order to gain entry.
For negative test results, they must be logged with the NHS, and the text/email confirmation will be accepted as proof. We also encourage people to use the NHS App which not only shows your test results but is also the way to prove your record of vaccination or immunity through previous infection. Paper vaccination cards are not accepted.

WHAT IF I’M NOT FROM ENGLAND / DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO THE NHS APP?
If you live in Scotland, and choose to show proof of vaccination upon arrival to the festival, you can obtain your full vaccination status here.
If you do not receive digital notification or letter in time, you will need to provide evidence of a negative NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test, by reporting the result here and presenting your NHS email or text notification on arrival.
If you live in Wales, and choose to show proof of vaccination upon arrival to the festival, you can obtain your full vaccination status by following the instructions here.
If you cannot access your NHS COVID Pass you will need to provide evidence of a negative NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test, by reporting the result here and presenting your NHS email or text notification at entry.
Otherwise ticket holders – including international and those from Northern Ireland – will be required to provide evidence of a negative NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test, by reporting the result here and presenting your NHS email or text notification at entry.
A positive result from an NHS Rapid Lateral Flow Test means it’s likely you had coronavirus when the test was done. You and anyone you live with must not attend and self-isolate immediately. You are then advised to get a NHS PCR test to confirm your result as soon as possible.
This guidance is subject to change as with all government and local council COVID-19 guidance. Other forms of certification may become available as we get closer to August 14th. We will update you on this as and when more information becomes available. We aren’t privy to any information that you aren’t, and are doing our best to navigate this new and unique challenge and provide the best Mardi Gras Festival possible. We appreciate all the positive and understanding messages from our great customers and will update you as often as possible if things change.
WHAT ARE THE SET TIMES?
Artist line up and set times will be released in due course.
IS THERE A CLOAKROOM?
We will not be operating a cloakroom on site.
ARE THERE LOCKERS ON SITE?
No, we won’t have lockers on site.
ARE THERE CHANGING ROOMS?
There are no changing rooms.
CAN YOU SMOKE CIGARETTES INSIDE THE FESTIVAL SITE?
Yes, you can smoke within the festival site as it is an outdoor event. Random searches will be made upon entry to ensure no prohibited items are concealed within cigarettes. Cigarettes will be sold from all bars.
WHICH HOTELS ARE LOCATED NEAR THE FESTIVAL?
We recommend staying in Leeds City Centre, check out https://www.trivago.co.uk for availability, as well as AirBnB.
There is not a car park for Mardi Gras, and very limited free on-street parking around the site. Therefore, we strongly discourage driving to / from the festival, and instead ask people to use our shuttle bus service or public transport.
WHERE CAN I FIND THE TOILETS?
There is a sufficient number of port-a-loos, urinals and disabled toilets at the venue.
CAN I BUY FOOD AT THE VENUE?
Yes, we have various food traders at the venue, who will offer a great variety of international cuisine and healthy food from local suppliers.
CAN I TAKE DRINKS TO THE FESTIVAL AREA?
Drinks not purchased at the event are not allowed in the whole festival area.
ARE THERE SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR DISABLED PEOPLE?

IS THERE POSSIBILITY TO RE-ENTER THE VENUE AFTER HAVING LEFT?
No, due to organisational reasons, re-entry is not possible.
CAN I TAKE MY CAMERA INTO THE FESTIVAL?
Only mobile phone cameras and small digital cameras for private use are allowed: video cameras are forbidden.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
It is Mardi Gras Festival so even though it’s not essential we encourage colourful carnival clothing!
CAN I BRING A BAG INTO MARDI GRAS: PROUD IN THE PARK?
No big bags or backpacks are allowed into Mardi Gras: Proud in the Park. Bum & Shoulder bags are permitted. No bags bigger than A4 size are permitted.
CAN I BUY A TICKET ON THE DAY?
We expect Mardi Gras Festival to sell out in advance, please purchase tickets now.
